WHO IS BRENDA DECARRIE?

Some of you may wonder who Brenda DeCarrie is when you see the dedication plaque by the monument at the corner of Ivy Grove and Broadlawn.  We honored her service to our community by dedicating that monument to
her in a surprise ceremony. Special guests included Eloy Balboa from the Clear Lake City Water Authority, Justin Gross from Justin’s Tree Service, Steven Thompson from Thompson’s Lawn Care (our neighborhood landscaping service), fellow Board members and friends!  She has served on the HOA Board of Directors for eight years and her dedication to the park has been
monumental in getting major projects done. She has been responsible for the
park drainage project, new park monuments, maintaining the flower beds at the monuments, filling poop bag stations, and playground revitalization, just to name a few.  She is always the first to volunteer, the first to show up and the last to leave. Thank you, Brenda, for all that you do. You make our neighborhood a better place to live!

SQUIRREL ISLAND

If you are wondering what this silhouette of a sheltie stands for, it
represents one of our homeowner’s dogs that used to chase
squirrels on that island, hence, the name Squirrel Island.  It is a
dedication to that homeowner, who chooses to remain
anonymous, and all that she has done for our community.  She
served on the Board of Directors, ARC Committee, and
volunteered for countless events and projects.  She is moving and
will be greatly missed!  Kiltie was her beloved sheltie.

WOODPECKERS

Have you seen them?  There are seven of them in our green space! (NOT IN THE PARK) These woodpeckers were hand made in Maidstone Lake, Vermont and were donated by the HOA Board of Directors in 2022.
Take the kids or grandkids on a woodpecker hunt!

LITTLE LIBRARY

The homeowner that donated our Little Library choses to remain anonymous but what a great addition to our park.  Read a book, share a book!
